The teal adds a touch of class, great concept.

Thank's Walter, It is a pleasure having you aboard, welcome.

Yes Walter, Have always been impressed by the different moods and feelings a color can display. Amazing how people react differently to a color, or exactly the same.

Posted this on the Diner forum.

Much in the same way that you can own all the guns you want but they don't do you much good without ammunition, you can have all the fora and websites you want, but they won't do you much good without bandwidth.

NYT reports ISPs such as Comcast and TimeWarner will now be able to determine and negotiate diverging prices for different services and levels of service. So greater bandwidth -- speed and capacity -- could go to the Disneys and Netflixes, those prepared to pay the premium. Meanwhile home and non-commercial service could be throttled.

"The rules could radically reshape how Internet content is delivered to consumers. For example, if a gaming company cannot afford the fast track to players, customers could lose interest and its product could fail.

The rules are also likely to eventually raise prices as the likes of Disney and Netflix pass on to customers whatever they pay for the speedier lanes, which are the digital equivalent of an uncongested car pool lane on a busy freeway.

Consumer groups immediately attacked the proposal, saying that not only would costs rise, but that big, rich companies with the money to pay large fees to Internet service providers would be favored over small start-ups with innovative business models — stifling the birth of the next Facebook or Twitter."

http://www.reddit.com/r/news/comments/23szhc/fcc_in_net_neutrality_turnaround_plans_to_allow/

"So Google and Microsoft and Netflix and other large, well-capitalized incumbents will pay for speedy service. Smaller companies that can't—or that ISPs just aren't interested in dealing with—will get whatever plodding service is left for everyone else. ISPs won't be allowed to deliberately slow down traffic from specific sites, but that's about all that's left of net neutrality. Once you've approved the notion of two-tier service, it hardly matters whether you're speeding up some of the sites or slowing down others.

This might have been inevitable, for both legal and commercial reasons. But that doesn't mean we have to like it."

Maybe it was inevitable...

Good morning Surly, a sad situation indeed. They inundate us with unwanted advertising, help NASA all they can in their disgusting illegal spying, and now take over the net with their same old weapon, MONEY.

It is difficult not to become a fatalist with the goings on. Once we lose our freedom to speak, and converse with one another, it will be all over.

Doomsday will have arrived.   :-\

A question unrelated to the thread, GO:

Does your "quote" function work for you as it does for the DD Forum? I find that it does not work for me, and am wondering if it might not be some browser setting on my part. Unless you are experiencing the same thing.
